Ingredients
The Filling
  • 1 (8oz) package cream cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup white sugar
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet)
The Cake Batter
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/4 cup cocoa
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp distilled white vinegar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

  2. Beat together the filling ingredients and then stir in the chocolate chips. Set aside. 

  3. In a mixing bowl, sift together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, and salt. Add water, oil, vinegar, and vanilla. Beat until well combined; batter will be thin. 

  4. Insert paper or foil cupcake cups into muffin pan. Fill each 1/3 full with batter. Add a spoonfull of filling to each cup. 

  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes.
